Our mission at My Favorite Books is to be part of a community of people who love books and the experiences they offer. Our main goal is to provide a happy place for book lovers. For everyone. We believe in the pleasure and power of reading and want to instill this love of books into new generations.

My Favorite Books is a used bookstore with a long history in Tallahassee. Located in the old Market Place Shopping Center on Timberlane Road for over twenty years, we computerized our inventory and moved to our new location in The Pavilions at 1410 Market Street in the spring of 2017. Jenny Jeffers has owned the business for many years, operating it as a labor of love.

My Favorite Books depends upon our customers for our inventory and sustainability. Customers bring in their gently used and much loved books, and we find them a new home. Book lovers can trade books for credit in the store Sunday through Friday. Store credit can be used for 90% of your purchase of used books. Books that we don't accept for resale can be donated to the Florida Department of Corrections, Military Veterans, and Our "Book Fairy Program," where we give free books to Leon County School Classroom Lending Libraries and other Community Outreach Programs.
However, rent, salaries, and utilities can not be paid with book credit. To help keep our store open as a place that serves our community, we have developed several win-win opportunities. One of these is our Patron Member program. For a $25 donation per year, you can become a Patron, receive over $80 in benefits, and support the bookstore's well being. Benefits include a $15 Gift Certificate; membership in the 12 Books of Christmas Club, where Patrons get a free, mass-market paperback or children's book every month; and a free book (up to $8.00 value) for your birthday. Another benefit is that store credit earned by Patrons never expires as long as they are active members.
My Favorite Books loves our local authors! Tallahassee is home to a vibrant literary community with published authors of many genres. When you come in the store, you will see a section of new books by local authors. You can support My Favorite Books and your favorite local authors by buying their books!* We also support local authors with book launches and discussions throughout the year. Check the Calendar of Events for upcoming author events. Chat with authors in the store, purchase their books, and get a personalized signature!
