September Featured Author/Artist

​I wrote my first story when I was about four years old. It was called "Charlie the Chuggly Cherry," and it was about the beauty of being different. Kind of an Ugly Duckling story but with a fruit tree. Although that story has been lost to the sands of time, I'm happy to report that I kept writing and now have several titles in print.

So, M.R. (asks the narrator), what have you been up to lately?

In addition to writing and publishing, I enjoy gourd art and photography. That's why MFB invited me to be both the featured author AND the featured artist in September. The store will have copies of my books for sale (which I'll be happy to sign!) as well as several gourds and photo canvases. These all make excellent holiday gifts (hint-hint)!

I'll be at My Favorite Books to chat about my stories, my writing process, my art on Sept. 21 from 1-3PM. I will also bring egg gourd kits (2 egg gourds plus decoupaging supplies for $10) and lead a decoupage craft activity. But let's not make this just about me!
